Fresh concerns have emerged over the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)’s preliminary voters’ register following the circulation of screenshots showing clusters of names associated with Northern Nigeria in polling units in Eziama Ward, Aba North Local Government Area of Abia State.
The screenshots extracted from INEC’s preliminary voters’ register, have raised questions about the composition and credibility of registered voters in the area, particularly at Eziama High School I, a polling unit reportedly linked to approximately 802 registered voters.
The images show several names, including variations of Abdul, Muhammad, Muhammed and Musa, alongside entries such as “AAAA DDDDDD”, which have been described as gibberish or placeholder names.
The development has drawn attention to findings attributed to MundX Analytics, which identified about 75 questionable entries in Eziama Ward alone.
The organisation highlighted examples of what it described as gibberish names in the preliminary register and urged Nigerians to scrutinise the records and report suspected irregularities through INEC’s online portal before the final register is published.
The findings have further raised questions about the accuracy of voter registration records in the South-East, particularly how entries containing questionable names and details passed through INEC’s registration and verification processes.
