Former Imo State governor Rochas Okorocha and his successor, Hope Uzodimma, have reportedly moved towards resolving their long-standing political differences ahead of the 2027 general elections.

A video circulating on social media appears to show the two political figures exchanging pleasantries and shaking hands in the presence of former Edo State governor, Adams Oshiomhole, who seemingly brokered the reconciliation.

During the encounter, Oshiomhole was heard declaring, “We’ve reconciled.”

The development comes amid renewed political tension between Okorocha and Uzodimma following a recent court judgment concerning the All Progressives Congress, APC, ticket for the Imo West Senatorial District.

The ruling reportedly favoured Okorocha, prompting strong reactions from Uzodimma’s camp.

Reacting to the judgment, Governor Uzodimma described Okorocha’s legal victory as temporary, accusing him of “chasing shadows” and indicating his intention to challenge the decision at the appellate court.

Several aides and representatives of the governor also rejected the court’s decision and questioned its outcome.

On his part, Okorocha called on Uzodimma and his supporters to respect the judiciary, warning against attacks on judges and criticism of court decisions.

The former governor also renewed his political criticisms of Uzodimma, including allegations relating to forgery.

The latest encounter between the two politicians has therefore raised expectations of a possible end to their prolonged political rivalry, although neither camp has formally announced a resolution of their differences.
