Supporters of former Kano State Governor, Rabi’u Kwankwaso, under the aegis of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, says the Nigerian Democratic Congress, NDC, zoned its presidency to the Southern Nigeria because of the belief in one Nigeria.

The National Coordinator of the Movement, Habeeb Saleh, stated this on Monday while fielding questions in an interview on Arise Television.

According to him, Nigerians need to be confident in the party and all its political candidates to always put the interests of the country first.

“Zoning the NDC presidency to the South is a product of believing in one Nigeria. But the reality before us is that decisions are taken that will naturally stabilize the entirety of the Nigerians.

“That decision has to be such that it will bring in trust and mutual understanding within ourselves.

“So justification of actually zoning this presidency to the South, the NDC believes that all Nigerians need to be in the same page. And they need to also have this confidence that the party, all those actors within the party, are such that have the Nigerian interest at heart,” he said.
