UNKNOWN GUNMEN AMBUSH MILITARY CONVOY, KILL 21 SOLDIERS ALONG ONITSHA-ENUGU ROAD

In the early hours of today, May 7, 2024, a military convoy enroute Enugu from Onitsha has been attacked by unknown gunmen.

Details of the attack is still sketchy, but an eyewitness who pleaded anonymity said , a surprise attack was launched on the military envoy thereby causing maximum casualties.

Meanwhile, residents of the area could be seen scampering for safety while shop owners where locking up their shops for the day, amid fear of military reprisal.

Corpses of soldiers numbering over 21 where littered around the scene.

Correspondence learnt that an emergency ambulance had arrived to assist the wounded soldiers while the dead soldiers where taken to the Federal medical centre ,Awka (FMC-A) morgue.

Ammunition and other military gears where looted by the enraged force.

    BREAKING: NLC CONVENES EMERGENCY MEETING OVER AJAERO’S ARREST BY DSS The Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, converged in Abuja for an emergency meeting on Monday.     DSS TAKES OVER SERAP’S OFFICE IN ABUJA Men from the Department of State Services (DSS) have stormed the Abuja office of the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP). Upon arrival at the office, DSS officers demanded to see the directors of the organization. The rights group took to social media to condemn the invasion, calling on President Tinubu to intervene. “Officers from Nigeria’s State Security Service (SSS) are presently unlawfully occupying SERAP’s office in Abuja, asking to see our directors,” SERAP tweeted. “President Tinubu must immediately direct the SSS to end the harassment, intimidation, and attack on the rights of Nigerians.” This latest incident comes on the heels of the arrest of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President Joe Ajaero by DSS operatives at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja. Ajaero was about to board a flight to the United Kingdom for an official assignment when he was detained.
