The Department of State Services (DSS) has arraigned the immediate past governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, before Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court in Abuja.
He was arraigned over his alleged involvement in wiretapping the telephone lines of the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu.
In February, secret police had filed a three-count charge, marked: FHC/ABJ/CR/99/2026 before the Federal High Court in Abuja, accusing the former governor of breaching the Cybercrimes Prohibition Act, (2024), and the Nigerian Communications Act (2003.)
But on Thursday, the prosecutor informed the court that the charges had been amended from three to five counts.
Hence, the judge struck out the previous count.
