The Osun State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has rejected the inauguration of the state Presidential Campaign Committee for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election.

The party, through its state chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, in a statement, alleged that the camp of Governor Ademola Adeleke failed to liaise and consult the party’s leadership before releasing the list to the public.

Lawal stated that the party is backing the re-election of President Tinubu, noting that the campaign committee must be inaugurated through proper consultation and official procedures.

According to him, the party was not consulted while setting up the campaign committee, stressing that due process was not followed.

The Osun APC chairman asserted that while the party remains committed to the re-election of President Tinubu in 2027, the campaign committee should be constituted in line with party guidelines and after due consultation with relevant stakeholders.

Lawal added that the current list released to the public does not have the backing of the party leadership in the state.

“In as much as we consider the re-election of the national leader of our party, President Tinubu, as a collective task which we have been working vigorously and assiduously to achieve through various means, it is our view and conviction that such an exercise should be properly scheduled,” he said.
