Obi Ozor, Enugu State Commissioner for Transport and founder of logistics firm Kobo360, is at the centre of reports alleging financial irregularities linked to projects under the Ministry of Transport.
Ozor, who was appointed to head the Transport Ministry in 2023, has overseen several capital-intensive initiatives, including the proposed construction of five transport terminals, the procurement of 100 CNG buses, and the establishment of the state-backed Enugu Air project, which reportedly involved the acquisition of aircraft.
According to circulating reports that haven’t been fully confirmed, questions allegedly arose following an incident in 2026 involving an Enugu Air aircraft at Benin Airport. The reports claim that subsequent reviews allegedly uncovered irregularities.
It is further alleged in those reports that Ozor and some associates were invited for questioning. No official statement has been released by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) confirming an arrest, detention, or ongoing investigation, and no charges have been publicly announced.
Ozor has reportedly been absent from his duties at the State Government Secretariat in recent weeks. He was last seen publicly in his hometown, Abor in Udi Local Government Area, during a cultural heritage event.
The Enugu State Government has not issued an official statement clarifying his status, whether he has resigned, or whether he is on leave pending any investigation.
The alleged sums involved, as cited in unconfirmed reports, are said to run into billions of naira, but no audited figures or official findings have been made public.
This development comes after a separate dispute between the Enugu State Government and contractor Sujimoto, whom the government had accused of defrauding the state of billions of naira — an allegation that is also subject to legal proceeding
