Seventeen members of the House of Representatives have officially defected from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
The lawmakers announced their defection during plenary, citing the internal crisis, leadership disputes, legal battles and uncertainty surrounding the ADC.
Among those who moved are lawmakers from Kano, Anambra, Lagos, Edo and Rivers states.
And this is where the story gets even more interesting…
The mass defection comes after Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso moved into the NDC camp, adding another major twist to the opposition realignment ahead of the 2027 elections.
Meanwhile, another ADC lawmaker, Leke Abejide, moved separately to the APC.
Politics is clearly entering another phase—and the movement of elected lawmakers could have major implications for the opposition going into 2027.
