ENUGU GOVT SUSPENDS IGWE WILLIAMS EZUGWU OF IBAGWA OGBOZALLA OPI

The Enugu State Government has suspended the traditional ruler of Ibagwa Opi Ogbozalla Autonomous Community in Nsukka Local Government Area, Igwe Eze Williams Ezugwu with immediate effect.

A statement by the Commissioner for Chieftaincy Affairs,Dr Charles Egumgbe,the suspension was as a result of alleged persistent conducts that are inconsistent with some sections of the Traditional Rulers Law of Enugu State.

Other accusations include failure to subscribe to the community’s Code of Conduct and to put in place a cabinet to help in running the affairs of Ibagwa Opi Autonomous Community since its creation.

According to the statement, the suspended traditional ruler has also failed to set up a town union executive, thereby running the community single handedly.

The government says that his actions are capable of plunging the community into an avoidable crisis.
