INEC DECLARES ADEMOLA ADELEKE WINNER OF OSUN GUBER POLL

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the incumbent Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, winner of the 2026 governorship election.

Announcing the result, the Returning Officer, Prof Joshua Ogunwole, who is the Vice-Chancellor of Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, said Adeleke, the candidate of the Accord Party, secured 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 444,815 votes.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate came a distant third with 17,180 votes.

The final result, as announced by INEC, gives Adeleke a winning margin of 66,252 votes over the APC candidate.

A total of 2,339,544 voters were registered for the election, while 1,010,684 voters were accredited.

According to the final figures, 985,079 votes were valid, while 20,721 votes were rejected, bringing the total votes cast to 1,005,800.

The declaration followed the collation of results from the 30 local government areas of the state.

With the victory, Adeleke secures another term in office after defeating the APC candidate in a closely contested election.

The result also confirms the trend from the results earlier declared from several local government areas, where Adeleke maintained a lead over his APC rival.
