Managing Director of Rojenny Stadium and Games Village Oba, Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka, has called on the Catholic Church to speak up on the crisis rocking the Tansian University which he co-founded with a priest, late Msgr JohnBosco Akam.
Ezeonwuka who made the call in a statement on Friday said the Catholic Church in Anambra state should not continue to pretend to be silent while they watched one of its priests covet his property and investment in its name.
He said he was surprised that a religious organisation which should champion truth and justice in the society was looking away while a Rev. Father who was neither a party to the formation of Tansian University was brazenly claiming ownership of the institution.
“The silence of the Catholic Church over the covetous and criminal activities of one of its priests who is a lawyer is no longer golden when the man is actually doing it in the name of the Church.
“I co-founded Tansian University with late Msgr John-Bosco Akam who is the Founder of Missionary Sons of Blessed Tansi. I made the property of Ranet Industries Oba, my company available as a takeoff campus.
“This priest who was engaged as a lawyer by late Akam has not only violated the letters of the consent judgement, he has gone ahead to claim ownership of the University, covert my property at Oba Campus and even ejecting members of the congregation.
“He is fighting with me, he is fighting with members of the Missionary Sons of Blessed Tansi, students are thrown out of the campus and parents do not even know the fate of their children.
“I think the Catholic Church in Anambra should speak up because I have contributed in no small measure to the Church, I was at the forefront of the beatification ceremony of Blessed Iwene Tansi where we derived our name,” he said.

Ezeonwuka alleged that the title to Ranet Industries, Oba which he provided as a takeoff campus had been fraudulently altered, vowing that nobody would criminally covet his investment in the institution.
The investor said he would employ every legitimate means to reclaim what rightly belonged to him.
