Bandits have released new videos showing some of the teachers kidnapped during the recent attack on schools in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, after spending 14 days in captivity.
In one of the videos circulating online, the principal of Community High School, Esiele, identified as Alamu F.O., was seen pleading emotionally with the government and well-meaning Nigerians to meet the demands of the abductors instead of engaging them in a confrontation.
The visibly distressed principal said the victims were going through severe hardship in captivity, adding that they had been exposed to harsh weather conditions without any form of shelter.
According to her, the abducted teachers and other victims have been left under heavy rain and scorching sun in the forest, while enduring serious pain and suffering.
She appealed to the Federal Government, Oyo State Government, and security agencies to urgently intervene and secure their release before the situation worsens.
The latest videos have sparked fresh concerns among Nigerians over the safety of teachers, students, and residents in parts of Oyo State following the attack on schools in Oriire Local Government Area.
The victims were abducted after armed men invaded Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Yawota; Community Grammar School, Esiele; and L.A. Primary School in Ogbomoso during a coordinated attack earlier this month.
