Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to Bola Tinubu and one of the most powerful figures in the current administration, is reportedly under growing scrutiny from officials in the United States following allegations tied to a viral video and political comments.

According to reports shared by Von Batten Montague York LC, a video circulating online appears to show Gbajabiamila encouraging actions that could disrupt the activities of the opposition African Democratic Congress.

The authenticity and full context of the footage have not been independently confirmed, but the claims have already triggered concern among observers.

There are also reports that Nigeria’s electoral body, the Independent National Electoral Commission, may be citing such disruptions as grounds to remove or challenge the leadership of the opposition party. This has raised fresh fears about interference in the democratic process and whether political competition is being fairly handled in Nigeria.

Additional claims suggest that Gbajabiamila could hold United States citizenship, a detail that has not been officially confirmed. If true, analysts say his alleged remarks could draw deeper attention from US authorities, especially if they are viewed as encouraging instability that may affect American interests.

Sources linked to House Republicans say lawmakers have requested ongoing updates about election integrity concerns in Nigeria, as well as reports of violence in northern regions. These reports include claims of targeted attacks against Christian communities, adding a human rights dimension to the political concerns being raised.

NN News Media had reported that at the birthday celebration of Honourable Leke Abejide Gbajabiamila told him to “hold tight to the ADC, fight hard, scatter them, and never allow anyone to take the party away.”

He added that Abejide should ignore former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello’s advice to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), saying firmly, “Stay right there in the ADC, win your election, and keep pushing and encouraged Abejide to bring in Bala Gombe the self-acclaimed ADC faction leader and promised full backing for his efforts.
