INEC RELEASES LOCATIONS FOR VOTER REGISTRATION CENTRES

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the locations of registration centres across the country for the forthcoming nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, set to resume on August 18, 2025.

The electoral body also revealed that it has received a total of 151 letters of intent from various associations seeking to register as political parties.

National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Sam Olumekun, who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, said that online pre-registration would commence on Monday, August 18, while in-person registration will follow a week later on Monday, August 25, 2025.

Olumekun said that both processes will run concurrently for one year, ending on August 30, 2026.

According to him, the registration exercise will be conducted in 811 centres across the country.

He explained that the registration procedures for both online and in-person formats remain the same as those used during the 2022 exercise, with additional educational materials, including videos, expected to be released next week.

He said: “The exercise will hold in 811 centres made up of our 774 Local Government, 37 State and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) offices nationwide, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Monday to Friday) every week, with the exception of national public holidays.

“For easy identification, the Commission is deploying an online CVR Live Locator to assist citizens in locating the registration centres nationwide. The locator will go live a day before the commencement of the CVR, on 17th August 2025, and can be accessed at the following address: [https://cvr.inecnigeria.org/locator](https://cvr.inecnigeria.org/locator).

“Meanwhile, the Commission has today uploaded a 38-page document to our website and other official online platforms indicating the addresses of the 811 in-person registration centres nationwide. Similarly, dedicated telephone numbers have been given for each state of the Federation to serve as Help Desk for citizens who require further clarification.

“The procedure for both the online and in-person registrations remains the same as was the case in 2022. Detailed information on the process, including video clips, will once again be released by the Commission next week.”

On party registration, the Commission said eight new associations have submitted letters of intent since its last update on July 23, 2025, bringing the total number of requests to 151.

INEC noted that its party registration portal is now active, adding that it has started shortlisting associations that meet the initial criteria to proceed to the formal application stage.

He, however, disclosed that full details of the shortlisted associations will be published after the 16 bye-elections scheduled for Saturday, August 16, 2025, across 12 states.
