COURT ORDERS EVICTION OF FATHER MBAKA’S INVESTMENT OVER NON-PAYMENT OF RENT

An Enugu North Magistrate Court, has executed a Warrant for Possession of Premises occupied by Aqua Rapha Investment Company limited owned by fire brand Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, the Spiritual Director of popular Adoration Prayer Ministry.

The company uses the rented apartment located at at No. 4 Savage Crescent, GRA, Enugu as depot for wholesale business distribution of her products at the heart of Enugu metropolis, but allegedly defaulted in paying the rent.

The eviction judgment pronounced Friday, which lasted several hours, saw the company’s products, equipment, files and other documents evacuated from the building and dumped on the major road just opposite Shoprite main gate in Enugu.

While executing the eviction order, the court bailiff also recovered a sales vault containing a total cash of N773,520 before sealing and putting the building, which hitheto served as wholesale apartment of the company, under lock and key.

Explaining what led to the eviction, the Counsel to Dr. and Mrs Ben Ogbu, Barr. James Edeh, said that his client, the property owners, were tried of the unfaithfulness of the managers of the company in paying agreed rent as contained in the signed tenancy agreement.

He noted that the company failed to abide fully with the initial three years tenancy agreement entered into in 2016 which elapsed in 2018.

“The company failed to pay an agreed installment of N300,000 meant for rent for 2017 and 2018 after paying that of 2016 and lump sum of the tenancy agreement,” .

“Even when the initial agreed tenancy elapsed in 2018, the company find it difficult to come and renegotiate the agreement but waited after we took them to court to come and drop N4 million without renegotiation or signing a fresh agreement to be supervised by me.”

“Before paying the N4 million after being in oblivion for some years, the company representative, Mr Nwankwo, was instructed to meet with me as the lawyer managing the property but he did not abide by the simple instruction.

“We have been in court since 2020 on this matter and we have repeatedly served the company and its lawyers; they only appeared once and no more. After waiting and being patient for many years, the court issued a Warrant for Possession of Premises by the original owner.”

Reacting to the development , lawyer to Aqua Rapha Investment company Ltd, Barr. Fidelis Okeke, said that the eviction was unfair, adding that “This is unlawful execution”.

Okeke said , the company was up to date with its rent payment, saying we have paid everything.

“I will go back to my chamber and study everything concerning this embarrassing execution and I will assure you it will not stand. By Monday, I will be in court to challenge this.“The company will surely seek redress in court and claim huge damages for this insult and reputation damage,” he stated.

NIGERIANS SLAM DANGOTE REFINERY OVER FUEL PRICE SECRECY Nigerians have slammed Dangote Refinery over its refusal to reveal its Premium Motor Spirit (Petrol) price months after the company began fuel distribution. This comes after Dangote Group on Saturday, through its official X account, denied claims by petroleum marketers that Dangote PMS is sold between N1,115 and N1,028 per litre. Yakubu Suleiman, National Assistant Secretary of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, said on Friday, during an interview with Arise Television, that the price of Dangote Petrol was higher than alternative sources. Suleiman said that the Dangote petrol price is between N1,115 and N1,028 per litre. However, Dangote described petrol marketers’ claims as ‘fake news’. In reaction Nigerians have demanded transparency and openness on the refinery’s fuel price template. Reacting on Saturday, Nigerians on X told Dangote Refinery to reveal its fuel price rather than operating in secrecy. @Olurunwababs: “It is laughable to debunk a claim as fake, then refuse to disclose how much it is to buy from Dangote Refinery! “Dangote Refinery should be transparent about its fuel price. “What DR needs to do is tell us how much they sell fuel. That way, we will have a full picture of what is going on!” @Abdul_A_Bello: “Just tell us how much you are selling from your depot.”. @Abbaaudu: “Dangote’s reluctance to publicly disclose the price of his petroleum products raises questions. If his refinery produces at a lower cost, why not transparently announce prices to attract local buyers and reduce imports? The secrecy fuels speculation about potential market dominance or unseen factors at play. “Just tell us the price! A simple and straightforward question, he wrote on his X account.” Recall that upon the lifting of Dangote Petrol on September 15 2024, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited had disclosed that it bought fuel at the 650,000 barrels per day Lagos-based refinery at N898 per litre, however Dangote refuted the claim, though it failed to disclose the exact figure. This comes as Nigerians struggle to buy petrol at between N1025 and N1300 per litre nationwide amid incessant petrol price hikes in the last few months.

PRICE OF DANGOTE FUEL HIGHER THAN OTHER SOURCES, WE’VE TO PITY NIGERIANS – IPMAN

PRICE OF DANGOTE FUEL HIGHER THAN OTHER SOURCES, WE’VE TO PITY NIGERIANS – IPMAN The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, on Friday said that the price of fuel from Dangote Refinery, as of last week, was higher than the price of the product from other sources. IPMAN said members must go where the price is lower and where they get profit, adding that they have to pity Nigerians. Yakubu Suleiman, National Assistant Secretary of IPMAN, stated this on Friday while fielding questions on Arise Television’s Morning Show programme. Suleiman argued that prices of petroleum products are determined by international pricing, insisting that Dangote is supposed to be disclosing the amount he’s going to sell his product. He said: “Prices are determined by international pricing. Dangote is supposed to be saying like every day, ‘This is the price I’m going to sell this product’. “But he cannot be able to do that unless he (Dangote) engages the stakeholders. And you cannot just say okay, we must only buy in his own depot. “IPMAN cannot just sit down and say ‘We will tell our members, all of you go to Dangote Refinery and buy your product and load’. We cannot just do that. This is a deregulated system. We have to source where products are much cheaper. Then we would inform our members to go and load product in any depot that the product is cheaper. “If Dangote has a product and is selling N1000, let’s assume, and there are other places that are selling N900. We can’t just say because for the sake we are doing business with Dangote, ‘Okay go and do it’. It’s not profitable to us. We must go where the price is lower; where we get profit. That is it.” Continuing, the IPMAN scribe added, “We are in a deregulated economy but Dangote is like trying to monopolize the whole issue. Fine. Let us know if there is monopoly in the whole system. But we believe that it’s now deregulation. “Like last week, Dangote’s price is higher than other places. Because if you can go by the price, the international price, crude has already started coming down. “If I could remember, as of last week, he gave N995 per litre, and you have to bring your cargo and load. How much will you pay the cargo? How much will be the other charges to your depot? And how much will go to the depot? And we expect independent marketers to go and sell it. Can we go and sell? Look at we have to pity Nigerians.”
