The Igbo-Etiti Local Government Education Authority in Enugu State has reportedly issued query letters to some public school teachers over their failure to attend a rally organised in support of Governor Peter Mbah’s second-term endorsement.

The rally, which reportedly took place on October 10, 2026, at Okpara Square in Enugu, was described by the education authority as a mandatory event for teaching staff under its jurisdiction.

In the query letters, the management stated that it had received reports that some teachers failed to attend the rally despite earlier circulars directing them to participate.

The authority reportedly considered their absence without official permission an act of insubordination to constituted authority.

Consequently, the affected teachers have been given 48 hours from the time they receive the letters to explain in writing why disciplinary action should not be taken against them for allegedly failing to comply with the directive.
