A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Segun Sowunmi, has slammed the National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party, PRP, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, for describing President Bola Tinubu as a failure.

Baba-Ahmed on Tuesday during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, said Tinubu inherited a poor country with weak institutions, poverty and insecurity, but has failed to deliver after three and a half years in office.

Speaking, however, on Vanguard’s Politics Hub on Wednesday, Sowunmi faulted Baba-Ahmed’s comments and described him as a Northern kid.

“That’s a Northern kid. What did I say? He’s a Northern kid. When you behave like a kid, you are a kid,” Sowunmi said.

He questioned what Northern leaders have done with resources allocated to the region over the years.

“All the resources that have been allocated to the North, where is the result?” he asked.

He said Northern leaders should look inward instead of blaming Tinubu, invoking the legacies of past leaders like Tafawa Balewa and Ahmadu Bello.

Sowunmi added that Baba-Ahmed does not speak for the entire North and described him as a “rabble-rousing little rat”.
