Former Anambra State Governor and Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate Mr. Peter Obi on Friday morning paid a visit to the College of the Immaculate Conception (CIC) in Enugu State.

Obi arrived at the school around 8:30 a.m. and was received in the company of Dr. Val Ozoigbo, President of the CIC Old Boys Association (Alumni) Home and Abroad. He toured the school premises to see the students and existing infrastructure.

During the visit, Obi inspected the new staff quarters currently under construction, a project being funded and executed by the old boys association. The alumni body has previously undertaken several major infrastructural interventions at the institution, including a multi-sport centre, dormitory facilities, and other upgrades.

Addressing the students, Obi encouraged them to study hard and remain dedicated to their academics, stressing the importance of education in personal and national development. The visit forms part of Obi’s ongoing engagements with educational institutions across the country.

The Principal of CIC, Very Rev. Fr. Oliver Ngwu, received the visitors in the company of other formators and staff.

Videos and images from the visit circulated widely on social media, showing Obi interacting with students and staff on the school grounds. CIC, founded in 1942, is one of the prominent Catholic secondary schools in the South-East and continues to benefit from active alumni support under leaders such as Dr. Ozoigbo.
