Three opposition governorship candidates in Enugu State have raised the alarm over what they describe as escalating political violence, intimidation and restrictions on opposition activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a joint statement issued on Monday, October 12, 2026, Chief Uche Geoffrey Nnaji of the PDP, Sir Christian Chinyeaka Ohaa of the NDC, and Ozor Obodoeze Ocho of the ADC condemned recent attacks on opposition supporters, political meetings and campaign offices across the state.
They specifically cited Saturday’s violent incidents at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport and the NDC campaign office in Enugu.
