PETER OBI ENCOURAGED ME TO VOTE FOR HIM AFTER INTERVIEW WITH BBC HAUSA…

I,have listened to Peter Obi’s recent interview with BBC Hausa, and honestly, some of his responses deserve serious reflection—not because he is a politician I must blindly support, but because they present a different philosophy of leadership that Nigerians should critically examine before 2027.

One statement particularly caught my attention:

“I am not greedy for power. I am greedy for work.”

Madina said: “You promised Nigerians a four-year term as president. Will you not become greedy for power after that term?”

Mr. Peter Obi said: “I will not stay a day longer than four years. I am greedy for work, I am not greedy for power.”

On the security issue, Obi said he will not sit in Abuja giving orders, he will go to the places to see with his own eyes. What is needed is for the president to make up his mind that the problem will end. The perpetrators of these crimes are known, they are in the bush, so we will find them.

Madina said: “But I will see you in Jejina, because I will also go to work.”

Mr. Peter Obi said: “Madina, if I become president of Nigeria, I will not leave this country, I will not go on vacation even for a day in the four years. I will only travel for other reasons, but not for vacation.”

“In the four years, I will spend my vacation here in Nigeria, in Zamfara, or Sokoto, or Jos. I will go to the most troubled areas. I want to use that opportunity to talk to the people.”

On the issue of fuel subsidies, Obi said corruption is the biggest problem, and he will deal with corruption in the fuel subsidy sector. Corruption has ruined the fuel subsidy sector. What I will do is eliminate corruption and continue to provide subsidies.

“If you do not steal, your wife and children do not steal, this problem will be reduced by 50 percent.”

Madina said: “Buhari once said he would deal with corruption, but that did not happen.”

Obi said: “Stop, stop Madina. The difference between me and Buhari is that he was not a total authority. I will be a total authority in the government.”

Madina said: “Will you withdraw if there is one candidate and support him?”

Obi said: “Let the people vote for whomever they want.”

Madina said: “You will not withdraw then?”

He said: “No, no… Think about it. What if one person gets 20 million votes?”

If you win the election in 2027, will you run again?

Obi said: “I am getting old, but I may do it if the time comes. But I want Nigeria to be a country where children born after independence will rule.”

Why didn’t you choose a young vice president, even though you said you want young people to rule Nigeria?

Obi said: “No, no. Kwankwaso is young compared to other Nigerian candidates. The job requires someone who is experienced. Kwankwaso has experience in politics.”
