FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has alleged that while the APC will carry his Obio-Akpor Federal Constituency in the presidential election, he expects to be given room to secure a House of Assembly seat for the PDP.

Speaking in a media coverage by TVC, Wike said, “In this constituencyt, everything is APC.

I’m from Obio-Akpor Federal Constituency and APC will win here, but I’m a national leader of PDP. Let them allow me to win the House of Assembly so that I can still be relevant,” he said.

Wike argued that his credibility as a PDP leader is directly tied to his ability to deliver at least one seat. He said it would be embarrassing for someone of his stature to lead a party that cannot win a single constituency.

He made it clear that the arrangement he is seeking is that both support the president at the presidential level while allowing other candidates to win at the legislative level.

Wike also stated firmly that he would not allow himself to be outmanoeuvred politically, insisting that he understands the game well enough to protect his interests.
