APC SWEEPS ENUGU LGA POLLS, WINS 17 LGA CHAIRMANSHIPS, 260 COUNCILLORSHIP SEATS

The All Progressive Congress (APC) has swept the Enugu State Local Government elections, winning all 17 chairmanship positions and the 260 councillorship seats across the state.

The Executive Chairman of the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC), Professor Christian Ngwu announced the results after the completion of the collation exercise held on September 26, 2026.

Ngwu, who is the Chief the Electoral Officer, declared APC candidates winners of the chairmanship and councillorship contests on Sunday.

According to ENSIEC boss, the APC won all 260 councillorship positions across the state’s 260 political wards.

The result gives the APC total control of the elected leadership of Enugu’s 17 local government areas and all the political wards.

Ngwu told the winners that having satisfied the requirement of the law, that they have been returned fully elected after scoring the highest number of valid votes cast,
He congratulated them and urged them to see their success as a call to duty.

He appreciated the security agencies and other stakeholders for their support and reiterated the commission’s commitment for conduct free and fair election.
