TINUBU WILL BE EMBARRASSED AT UNGA OVER DRUG TRAFFICKING CASE – US LOBBY FIRM

A United States US-based political advisory and lobbying firm, Von Batten-Montague-York, has insisted that Bola Tinubu will be embarrassed in New York if he attends the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) later this month.

In a statement posted on its verified X account, the firm alleged that Tinubu is an “alleged heroin trafficker” and claimed that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) had linked him to a criminal organisation involved in smuggling heroin from Nigeria into the United States during the 1980s and 1990s.

The firm also claimed that a proposed meeting between Tinubu and United States President Donald Trump would not take place, alleging that Tinubu had been seeking such an engagement during the UNGA.

It said it would continue lobbying the White House and Congress to ensure that US officials understood its allegations against Tinubu, whom it described as a liability to Trump and the United States.

The firm, however, said there was no plan to arrest Tinubu over the allegations if he attends the UNGA, describing claims to the contrary as untrue.

The development comes ahead of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York, where Tinubu is expected to participate later this month.
