Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has mocked Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker Abiodun Faleke following a fresh exchange between the singer and the politician over the just-concluded Osun State governorship election.
Davido made the remark in a post on X while responding to Faleke, who had earlier reacted to the singer’s comments about the role of politicians during the collation of results from the election.
The exchange followed Davido’s earlier criticism of Faleke over what he described as pressure on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) during the collation of results from the August 15 governorship election.
Faleke denied putting pressure on INEC or attempting to influence the electoral process, saying he had travelled to Osun to support the APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, during the election.
The lawmaker also pointed to Davido’s support for his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, who contested the election on the Accord Party platform and secured re-election.
Faleke had urged the singer to focus on his music while politicians handled politics, prompting Davido’s latest response that politics should not be treated as a career and telling the lawmaker to get himself a job.
The exchange adds to a series of public confrontations between political actors and Davido, who played a highly visible role in his uncle’s campaign and repeatedly commented on developments during the Osun election.
Governor Adeleke eventually defeated Oyebamiji in the governorship election, securing a second term in office after results were collated across the state.
