The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, has inaugurated reconciliation committees ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during the inauguration on Thursday, the national chairman of the party, Moses Cleopas, named Professor Pat Utomi as chairman of the committee and Buba Galadima as co-chairman.

Cleopas charged the committee to discharge its assignment with fairness, impartiality, integrity, and absolute fidelity to the constitution of the party.

He asked members of the committee to listen patiently, engage widely, reconcile sincerely, recommend boldly where necessary and allow justice and the overall interest of the party guide every decision they make.

“Your assignment is not merely to settle disputes; it is to rebuild confidence, restore trust, strengthen unity, and reassure every member that the NDC remains one united family where justice, fairness, equity, and inclusion shall continue to prevail.

“I wish to assure every aspirant that the party deeply appreciates the sacrifices, commitment, resources, and energy invested by all those who offer themselves of service. The fact that only one candidate emerged in each position, does not diminish the leadership capacity or political value of others.

“Indeed, many of those who did not secure nominations remain invaluable assets whose contributions will be indispensable as we take the campaigns ahead, and by the grace of God, form government in 2027.

“Our campaign must therefore be inclusive. Every committed member must have a role to play. Every stakeholder must feel a sense of belonging. Every grievance, honestly expressed, deserves a listening ear.

“I therefore call upon all aspirants, party leaders, stakeholders, supporters, and members across the federation to cooperate fully with this committee,” he said
