DANIEL BWALA REACTS AS RUFAI OSENI WINS MEDIA PERSONALITY AWARD

OIP 98 2

Daniel Bwala, a presidential aide, has criticized Arise TV anchor Rufai Oseni over his recent activities abroad.

Bwala argued that being a media personality is not the same as being a professional journalist.

According to him, some on-air figures gain attention not because of credible reporting, but through controversial behavior such as insults and alleged blackmail.

In a post via X, he also dismissed Oseni’s international media visits, saying that touring foreign media organizations does not automatically qualify someone as a journalist.

In his view, such trips do not change a person’s reputation or the way they operate within the media space.

Bwala further questioned Oseni’s engagement with certain groups during his time abroad.

He claimed that meetings described as gatherings of Nigerians in the diaspora were actually linked to supporters of Peter Obi, often called Obidients.

He suggested that these meetings should be clearly identified for what they represent rather than being presented in a broader or more neutral way.

In his words, “Also taking a tour of a media outfit abroad doesn’t make you a journalist either. You still remain a blackmailer.”
