The city of Enugu yesterday played host to a high-powered gathering of political heavyweights of African Democratic Congress (ADC) for a crucial meeting widely seen as a strategic move to strengthen the party’s structure and influence.
The stakeholders’ meeting attracted an impressive lineup of prominent figures across the South-East political landscape among them former Anambra State Governor and respected political leader Mr. Peter Obi; the ADC Governorship candidate in Anambra governorship election in 2025 Mr. John Chuma Nwosu, his Deputy Governorship candidate Chief Dr. Ndubuisi Nwobu; and former Governor of Imo State, Chief Achike Udenwa.
Also present were Rt. Hon. Barrister Ben Chuks Nwosu, Chairman of ADC MMRRC in Anambra State; Hon. Peter Aniekwe, who represents Anambra East and West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives; and Hon. Onyebuchi Offor, alongside several other party stalwarts and influential stakeholders.
The meeting, described by insiders as both “timely and strategic,” focused on consolidating party unity, reviewing ongoing grassroots mobilization efforts, and mapping out a clear roadmap ahead of upcoming political engagements.
Observers noted that the convergence of such influential leaders under one roof signals a renewed determination within the ADC to reposition itself as a formidable political force, particularly in the South-East region.
Mr. John Chuma Nwosu’s presence further underscored his growing role within the party, as discussions reportedly emphasized inclusivity, effective leadership, and sustained engagement with the electorate.
While details of deliberations remained largely behind closed doors, the meeting is expected to shape the party’s next phase of political activities, with stakeholders expressing optimism about a more coordinated and impactful ADC moving forward.
Political analysts believe the Enugu meeting may mark a turning point for the party, as it seeks to harness the collective strength of its leaders to build momentum ahead of 2027#
