Musa Abubakar, the party agent for ADC at the Gwagwa polling unit ln the concluded FCT election had lost his life while trying to protect the votes.
Candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in the Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC election, said he had visited the family of Musa Abubakar who died during the election in Gwagwa.
“There were also instances where people changed the results from polling units, and this sad situation sadly led to the death of Musa Abubakar at the Gwagwa polling unit as he was trying to defend his vote,” he said in a press conference following the election.
“I am asking the proper officials to look into this issue carefully and make sure fairness is achieved. These actions harm the fairness of the voting process and make people lose trust in our democracy,” he added.
The All Progressives Congress, APC, emerged victorious in five of the six area council chairmanship positions in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
