The Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, has commended the developmental strides of Governor Alex Otti, saying recent improvements across Abia State are “real and visible.”
Musa made the remarks on Friday during the 70th birthday celebration of former Chief of Army Staff, Azubuike Ihejirika, held in the state.
Speaking at the event, the minister said he had previously seen numerous positive comments about Abia’s progress but was uncertain whether they reflected the actual situation on the ground until his recent visit.
“Lately, I have seen many comments praising Abia State, but I wondered if they truly reflected reality. After my recent visit, I can confirm firsthand that the transformation is real and visible,” he said.
He urged residents of the state to reflect on the achievements recorded within two years of the current administration, noting that greater progress could be made with more time.
“To the people of Abia, look at what Governor Otti has achieved in just two years; now imagine what could happen in eight years,” Musa added.
The defence minister also emphasised the importance of effective leadership in driving development, stating that the changes witnessed in the state demonstrate what purposeful governance can achieve.
He called on citizens to move beyond past challenges and support ongoing efforts aimed at growth and stability, particularly in the South-East region.
Musa expressed appreciation to the hosts of the event and wished the celebrant well, describing the gathering as an opportunity to reflect on leadership and national development.
Governor Otti has repeatedly stated that his administration is focused on rebuilding infrastructure, improving governance and restoring public confidence in the state.
