A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Katsina State, Dr. Mustapha Inuwa has revealed that N300 million naira has been allocated to terrorists in a local government in Katsina state.
This was revealed in a post made by a netizen, Somto Okonkwo on Saturday on his official X handle.
In his post, Okonkwo quoted Dr. Mustapha Inuwa as alleging that a local government area in Katsina State had a 2026 budget of ₦300 million, which was purportedly allocated to bandits rather than development projects or public welfare.

According to the claim, the funds were reportedly drawn from the local government’s annual allocation, raising concerns about accountability and the handling of security challenges in the state.
The allegation suggests that, instead of strengthening security operations or addressing the root causes of banditry, authorities are engaging in an informal arrangements with criminal groups, a practice that further entrench insecurity.
Katsina State, like several parts of northern Nigeria, has been plagued by persistent bandit attacks, kidnappings, and rural violence, however the report of terrorism in the budget has raised concerns as to whether the government are eradicating terrorism or adopting it as a norm in Nigeria.
