NOTORIOUS BANDIT LEADER, BELLO TURJI, ORDERS SOKOTO VILLAGERS TO RELOCATE

Notorious bandit leader Bello Turji has started a raid to seize control of several villages in Sokoto State’s eastern district, beginning with a violent raid on Tidibale village in Isa LGA, last night. During the attack, residents were ordered to evacuate within 24 hours. Bargaja village, also in Isa LGA, was targeted days ago, in line with Turji’s stated intention to dominate much of the district.

What immediate steps are security forces and humanitarian agencies taking to protect displaced residents and prevent further escalation?
