The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State says it will fully align with whatever political direction the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, gives ahead of the 2027 elections.
APC chairman in the area, Rejoice Otobo, made the pledge during Wike’s “thank-you” visit on Sunday, assuring that the people would not disappoint him in future political decisions.
“We await your instructions on the 2027 elections. Wherever you ask us to go, we will go; whatever you ask us to do, we will do,” Otobo said.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman in the LGA, Ikechukwu Obuzor, also pledged total loyalty, saying Wike had restored hope to the people of Ahoada West.
“Wherever you go, we will go. Be assured that in 2027, Ahoada West will deliver,” he said.
Chairman of Ahoada West Local Government Council, Chita Eugene, described Wike as the “political field marshal of the South-South,” adding that the visit was a celebration of leadership and service.
Member of the House of Representatives for Ahoada West/Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Federal Constituency, Victor Obuzor, also commended Wike for the projects and development he attracted to the area during his time as governor.
The Seyi Tinubu Support Group likewise pledged support for Wike and for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
In his remarks, Wike thanked the people for their support during the 2023 elections and said Rivers State must reclaim its reputation for good governance. He insisted that Governor Siminalayi Fubara should not be re-elected, saying the state needs leadership that can restore its political glory.
“Rivers State is already regaining respect because of what we’re doing in the FCT. We need a leader we can trust to move our state forward,” he said.
