Passengers of a commuter bus belonging to Enugu State Transport Company Ltd were reportedly kidnapped along Nsukka-Adani in Enugu State on Friday.

It was gathered that the passengers were forced into the bush by their abductors.

A social media influencer, Sen Chijinkem Ugwuanyi, posted that all the passengers were kidnapped.

According to him, “An Entraco mini bus fully loaded with passengers was intercepted by kidnappers along Nsukka-Adani road early hour of yesterday (Friday), and the whole passengers moved into the bush. It was the bus that took the first turn en route to Nsukka.”

Ugwuanyi further identified the driver of the bus as Ewenike Ignatius.

He stated, “The driver of the mini bus was kidnapped together with his passengers on their way to Nsukka. A medical doctor from Itchi town was also kidnapped. He just came back for Xmas to visit his family in Nsukka and was kidnapped too along Nsukka-Adani road.”

He warned residents to “be careful and stay safe”, adding that “things are not adding up and they know them.”

The Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Daniel Ndukwe, has not responded to our correspondent’s request on the allegations.

Barr Chijioke Ezeugwu, Chairman of Isi-Uzo LGA, did not also respond to our response message to him.
