The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has vowed that he would not allow anyone to drive him out of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking during the 104th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Sunday night, the minister boasted that he was among the founding members who had built the platform that many now sought to destroy through illegality and deception.
Wike asserted that some current leaders rose to prominence only after failing in other political parties.
“From 1998, when this party was formed, I was there all through. How can those who met me in my house try to drive me out? I will never allow that.
“Ask Bala Mohammed which party he ran as a senator. Ask Seyi Makinde, he was in SDP, he didn’t make it. People come, become governor, then dictate, and pursue those who made sacrifices from inception. We will not allow them to kill the party,” he said.
Wike traced his political rise from council chairman to governor to PDP’s platform, stressing that loyalty must not be sacrificed for opportunism.
“I ran under PDP, and I won. I ran again, and I won. I ran for governorship and I won under PDP. My loyalty is not shallow. I paid my dues,” he declared.
