President Bola Tinubu has been asked to quickly tender his resignation following the Federal Government’s inability to end the worsening security crisis.
Terrorists, bandits, and other criminal elements have been on a recent rampage, killing and abducting unsuspecting citizens.
There have been incidents of killings and mass abductions in Kebbi, Kwara, Zamfara, and other states.
The surge in insecurity has drawn condemnation from concerned Nigerians and even foreigners, with some calling for the president to resign to pave the way for a more competent leader.
In a post on X, human rights lawyer Inibehe Effiong urged the president to resign and apologize to Nigerians.
“President Tinubu should tender his resignation and apologize to the country.
“As Commander-in-Chief, he is weak, clueless, and grossly incompetent. The killings and bloodbath can’t continue.
“Tinubu resign now,” the activist posted on X.
Similarly, popular Nigerian actor and comedian Mr Macaroni noted in a post on his official X handle that in a civilized country, the president should resign over his inability to tackle the security crisis.
“Why should any part of this country be under terrorist occupation? In any civilized country, Tinubu should resign!” he wrote.
Also, social media commentator Isaac Fayose, in a viral video clip, called on Tinubu to step down.
“Dear President Tinubu, I think it is time to resign. You are not capable of ruling this country.
“How do you feel comfortable being president over a failed nation where Nigerians are kidnapped daily and genocide is happening everywhere?” he said.
On his part, Nigerian rapper and songwriter Falz, in a post on X, asked the president to resign, stating that the Nigerian leader has been unwilling to protect citizens.
He wrote, “You have consistently shown your unwillingness to protect the lives and property of our people despite pretending to care in the past. RESIGN NOW!”
