ABUJA AIRPORT SHUT DOWN AFTER PRIVATE JET INCIDENT

The Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA) in Abuja was temporarily closed on Wednesday following an incident involving a private jet on the runway.

The aircraft, a Gulfstream 400 with tail number 5N-PZE, was carrying 14 passengers, including four crew members.

According to sources, the jet was arriving from Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, when the incident occurred, landing at 2:16 p.m.

“The cause of the incident is yet to be determined, but the relevant authorities have been notified,” a source said.

Mr. Henry Agbebire, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), confirmed awareness of the incident, adding that he would provide further details to reporters in due course.
