RENO OMOKRI’S OLD VIDEO ON KILLING OF CHRISTIANS IN NIGERIAN SURFACES JUST AFTER ARISE TV HOST CHARLES ANIAGOLU CALLED HIM OUT FOR FAILING IN ALLEGED LOBBYING OF US GOVERNMENT

Old social media posts by former presidential aide Reno Omokri have resurfaced online, showing his past remarks about the killing of Christians in Nigeria.

The renewed attention follows Arise TV host Charles Aniagolu’s criticism of Omokri, who was accused by former U.S. mayor Mike Arnold of being contracted by the Nigerian government to influence U.S. narratives about Christian persecution in the country.

Aniagolu had mocked Omokri in a recent post, writing, “Seems Reno Omokri has failed spectacularly in his lobbying efforts!” and earlier referred to him as “anywhere belle face.”

As reactions trailed the claims, Nigerians began circulating screenshots of Omokri’s old posts where he had repeatedly condemned attacks on Christians and accused the government of silence and complicity.

In one tweet dated January 29, 2017, Omokri wrote:

“Their voice is so LOUD condemning ‘injustice’ against Muslims in USA yet very SILENT in condemning genocide of Christians in Nigeria!”

He made similar comments on Facebook that same year, writing:

“How to identify a hypocrite: Their voice is so LOUD condemning ‘injustice’ against Muslims in USA yet very SILENT in condemning genocide of Christians in Nigeria or their own country of origin!”

In a June 26, 2019 post, he directly addressed then–Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, stating:

“Here is a well RESEARCHED, FACT BASED work on how Nigeria has become one of the most dangerous places in the world to be a Christian under YOUR WATCH. It details the KIDNAP, KILLINGS and RELIGIOUS CLEANSING under your government. Is this also DRAMATISED? #OsinbajoStopLying.”

Omokri also took aim at U.S. leaders in later years. On February 10, 2021, he tweeted:

“Why is @JoeBiden more concerned about LGBTQ rights in Nigeria, but less so about Christian rights? Christians are more endangered in Nigeria. Tens of thousands of Nigerian Christians have been killed for their Christianity. How many gays have been killed for their homosexuality?”

Another post from June 25, 2018, read:

“12 hours ago, Miyetti Allah issued a statement explaining why their herdsmen killed almost 200 Christians in Plateau state. 8 hours later the Buhari Presidency releases a statement absolving the herdsmen who had already claimed responsibility and blaming politicians! Wonders!”
