INNOCENT NIGERIANS BRUTALLY MURDERED BY TERRORISTS NOT ENOUGH TO SACK SERVICE CHIEFS UNTIL COUP PLOT AGAINST YOUR REGIME — NETIZEN KNOCKS TINUBU

Reactions have continued to trail the sudden and abrupt change in the leadership of the Nigerian military by the Bola Ahmed Tinubu regime.

General Olufemi Oluyede has replaced General Christopher Musa as Chief of Defence Staff, making Musa the first top military officer to be relieved under this reshuffle.

Major-General W. Shaibu has been named the new Chief of Army Staff, while Air Vice Marshall S. K. Aneke now leads the Air Force.

This comes after reports that the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) had apprehended several officers, including a Brigadier-General and a Colonel, for alleged involvement in a planned move to overthrow the regime of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

An X user, @Maibitil_“, however, described the move as the action of “a callous and avaricious intoxicated leader.

According to him, “The innocent citizens who were brutally killed by bandits, along with the security personnel murdered by Boko Haram, were not enough to sack the Service Chiefs until a coup plot against his poor government was revealed”.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC), in a recent statement, cautioned Tinubu against “weaponising” coup allegations to stifle dissent, urging instead that “national security must not become a pretext for shrinking democratic space.”

Observers also say the repeated rumours underscore the fragility of confidence, both in the military and in the state.
