There seems to be an uneasy calm in APC Enugu state as many prominent APC leaders in the Southeast shunned the official defection of the state governor, H.E Peter Mbah into the party.
Even when many people expected the likes of Governor Hope Uzodimma, APC governors forum chairman , Sen. Kelvin Chukwu senator representing Enugu East, Hon. Sunday Nnamchi, member representing Enugu East and Isi Uzo federal constituency, Hon. Sunday Umeha, Member representing Udi/ Ezagu federal constituents, Hon Chimaobi.Atu, member representing Enugu North/Enugu South federal.constituency, and other members of the Southeast zone executives of the party to be in attendance, the ceremony was only witnessed by former PDP members who joined the party with the governor.
This alone sends a strong signal that all might not have been well for the APC in southeast and by extension, at the national level.
However, apart from former PDP members who gathered in their numbers at Okpara square, there was no sign of original APC members during the ceremony.
The reason for their absence during the ceremony was said to be linked to the political crisis between the state governor and the former minister Uche Nnaji which has unarguably torn the party apart.
According our reporter, Chief Ugo Agballa is still laying claim of being the chairman of the party in the state relying on the provisions of the constitution of the party.
He further directed their supporters to stay away from whatever the governor and his likes were doing in the name of defection to the party.
According to report, the defection was mere celebration by former PDP members in the state
