The Rivers State House of Assembly on Thursday sent a fresh message to Governor Siminalayi Fubara, urging him to immediately submit the list of commissioner-nominees for screening and confirmation.
The call came as lawmakers reconvened in Port Harcourt for their first plenary after a six-month suspension triggered by the declaration of emergency rule in the state.
The sitting was held at the Conference Hall of the Legislative Quarters along Aba Road.
During the session, the Assembly commended President Bola Tinubu for lifting emergency rule and restoring democratic governance in Rivers State. Members also pledged to uphold agreements reached with key stakeholders to safeguard peace and stability.
Governor Fubara, along with his deputy and lawmakers are expected to return to office following the presidential directive on Wednesday.
