Lere Olayinka, the senior special adviser on media to the former governor of Rivers State and FCT minister, Nyesom Wike has reacted after NUPENG described the free delivery of petrol by Dangote refinery as ‘Greek Gift’.
According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he urged NUPENG to also demonstrate their love for Nigerians by giving a ‘French Gift’.
Dangote Refinery left many stunned after they announced a slash in prices of the Premium Motor Spirit otherwise known as PMS.
They also went a step further by announcing a free delivery to customers across the state.
The announcement was however, met with diverse reactions after they surfaced online, prompting NUPENG to counter the incentive, describing it as a ‘Greek Gift’.
Reacting, Lere Olayinka, the senior special adviser on media to the former governor of Rivers State and FCT minister Nyesom Wike in the statements which were shared on his official X handle, slammed NUPENG.
According to his statements, he pointed out that if Dangote Refinery decided to give Greek Gift’ to Nigerians, they should double it up by giving a ‘French Gift’.
These were the words of Lere Olayinka which he shared on his official X handle on Friday September 12th, 2025.
“As Dangote Refinery dey offer Nigerians Greek Gift, why can’t NUPENG too offer Nigerians French Gift”. He rhetorically asked.
