GALE OF REVERSALS: EIGHT APPOINTMENTS TINUBU REVERSED AFTER ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1. In August, Tinubu reappointed Muheeba Dankaka as chair of the Federal Character Commission (FCC) but replaced her hours later with Ayo Omidiran.
  2. Asu Okang was named to the NDDC board in 2024, only to be replaced by Orok Otuk Duke.
  3. Ruby Onwudiwe’s CBN board appointment was withdrawn over her Labour Party affiliation.
  4. On March 18, Tinubu asked the senate to reverse the nomination of two INEC RECs, just six days after forwarding their names.
  5. Ibrahim Kashim Imam was appointed FERMA board chair on October 13, 2023, but his appointment was withdrawn two days later.
  6. Idris Olorunnimbe’s UBEC board chairmanship was cancelled in July and replaced with Tanko Al-Makura.
  7. Maryam Shetty was dropped as a ministerial nominee on her screening day and replaced with Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure.
  8. The appointments of Rotimi Pedro (DG, NTA), Stella Din-Jacob (Executive Director, News), and Karimah Bello (Executive Director, Marketing) were reversed less than two weeks after they were announced
