
OKONJO-IWEALA MEETS CBN GOVERNOR IN ABUJA ON TRADE ISSUES
The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Olayemi Cardoso, on Thursday, August 14, 2025, hosted the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, at the Bank’s headquarters in Abuja.
An X post by the nation’s apex bank on Thursday revealed this.
Titled, “Discussing Trade Matters,” it wrote, ” The Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Olayemi Cardoso, welcomed the Director General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, on a working visit to the CBN Head Office, Abuja, on Thursday, August 14, 2025.
“Joining the discussions were the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, and Nigeria’s Ambassador to the WTO, Amb. (Dr.) Adamu Abdulhamid.”
The closed-door meeting focused on trade-related issues and Nigeria’s engagement with global markets.
Meanwhile, formal details of the discussions have yet to be made public.
