EBONYI GOVERNOR, NWIFURU, SLAMS ONE-MONTH SUSPENSION ON 87 APPOINTEES OVER FAILURE TO ATTEND FUNCTION

Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has slammed a one-month suspension on 87 top government functionaries over failure to attend an official event.

The suspended functionaries were 25 commissioners, 14 senior special assistants, 24 special assistants, and 22 permanent secretaries.

According to a public service announcement released on Monday, July 28, 2025, and signed by the Governor’s Press Secretary, Dr. Monday Uzor, the one-month suspension was with immediate effect and without salaries.

The suspended government functionaries were also barred from signing any official documents during the period.

The release listed the affected functionaries as follows:
