FG SUSPENDS RECRUITMENT INTO PARAMILITARY AGENCIES, REOPENS PORTAL JULY 21

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board has temporarily suspended its recruitment application portal to improve system efficiency.

The Secretary to the Board, Maj. Gen. AM Jibril (retd.), made this known in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja.

He stated that the suspension affects the portal dedicated to the recruitment of personnel into the board’s paramilitary agencies.

Jibril stated that the board announced that the portal will reopen on Monday, July 21, 2025.

He explained that the move was necessary to handle the surge in applications and ensure a smooth recruitment process.

“This development will ensure that the portal accommodates the high volume of applications while guaranteeing a smooth, transparent, and fair recruitment process,” the statement read.

He said the board commended Nigerians for their interest in joining the services and assured them of fairness.

“We appreciate the enthusiasm and interest of young Nigerians to serve their country through these vital agencies.

“We remain committed to ensuring a fair and transparent recruitment process,” the statement added.

According to Jibril, the suspension affects agencies under the CDCFIB, including the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigerian Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service, and Nigerian Correctional Service.

The board advised applicants to monitor the portal and submit their applications promptly when the system reopens on July 21

The recruitment exercise, which began on June 30, 2025, has attracted thousands of applications from Nigerians seeking employment in agencies under the CDCFIB.
