WE DO NOT MOURN TYRANTS – SOWORE LISTS BUHARI’S ‘ SINS

As the death of former President, Muhammadu Buhari, continues to trigger mixed reactions among Nigerians, former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has reeled out major shortcomings of the former leader.

Buhari died on Sunday in London after a brief illness, and his remains are expected to arrive in the country on Monday for burial in Daura, Katsina state.

In a post via Facebook, Sowore alleged that the late Buhari slaughtered hundreds of Shiites, men, women, and even children.

The popular activist also accused Buhari of ordering soldiers of the Nigerian Army to open fire on peaceful EndSARS protesters waving the Nigerian flag, in October 2020.

Sowore also alleged that Buhari masterminded the disappearance of Abubakar Idris, a social media influencer and staunch critic of the Nigerian government who was abducted on August 1, 2019.

According to him, the late former president ordered the massacre of young Southeasterners whom he branded IPOB, adding that Buhari disobeyed court orders, jailed critics arbitrarily, destroyed the economy, and ruined everything he touched.

He wrote, “Muhammadu Buhari slaughtered hundreds of Shiites, men, women and even children. He ordered soldiers of the HQ Nigerian Army to open fire on peaceful #EndSARS protesters waving the Nigerian flag.

“He “disappeared” Dadiyata. He ordered the massacre of young Southeasterners whom he branded IPOB. He disobeyed court orders, jailed critics arbitrarily, destroyed the economy, and ruined everything he touched.

“And now, because he’s dead, some people with selective memory want us to mourn or worship him? Shameful. NO, we do not mourn tyrants. We remember their victims.”
