WIKE, FUBARA STRIKE PEACE DEAL, SAY WE’VE AGREED TO WORK TOGETHER
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, have publicly declared an end to their prolonged political rift after a meeting with President Bola Tinubu in Abuja, News360 Nigeria reports.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Wike confirmed that both camps had reached a truce. “We have all agreed to work together with the governor, and the governor has agreed to work with all of us. For me, everything is over,” Wike said.
Governor Fubara also expressed optimism about the renewed peace in the state, assuring that the reconciliation would be sustained for the sake of Rivers people. “Peace has returned to Rivers State. We will do everything in our power to make sure we sustain it this time around,” the governor stated.
The peace meeting comes after months of political tension in Rivers, marked by confrontations between supporters of both leaders.
