ENUGU GOVERNOR, MBAH, INAUGURATES COUNCIL OF EASE OF DOING BUSINESS
Today I inaugurated the Enugu State Ease of Doing Business Council to drive and coordinate reforms that will make Enugu one of the most attractive states in Nigeria for investment, enterprise and innovation.
This council is a strategic mechanism to deliver on our promise of growing Enugu’s economy from $4.4 billion to $30 billion by making it the premier destination for business, investment, tourism and living.
I made it clear that investors are not Father Christmas. They go where there is ease, confidence and good return on investment. That is why, from the very beginning of this administration, we hit the ground running by signing Executive Order 005 to prioritise the ease of doing business in our state.
This council we have inaugurated is a reflection of our firm resolve to create a business-friendly environment. From digital access to land through ENGIS, to one-stop shop for permits, to heavy investment in security, transport, and digital infrastructure, we are laying the right foundation for growth. We are also building a strong pool of skilled manpower to support enterprise.
As chairman of this council, I will work closely with all members to ensure we position Enugu at the frontier of ease of doing business in Nigeria.
I am pleased by the enthusiasm of the private sector, represented by the Enugu and Nsukka Chambers of Commerce. Their faith in our vision is strong. They have seen what we are doing and are ready to carry the message to investors across the country and the world.
We are aligning with global standards because we know that the more investment we attract, the better life will be for our people. Enugu is safe, open, and ready for business.
