DRAMA AS JOURNALISTS DEFENDING NATASHA CLASH ON AIR, DECLINE INVESTIGATIONS

What started as a casual Facebook Live session by popular political commentator Adeola Fayehun quickly spiraled into a heated clash, as she and fellow influencer Francess Olisa exchanged sharp words over the ongoing controversy involving Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, Dr. Sandra Duru (aka Prof Mgbeke), and a series of allegations.

The tension boiled over when Adeola, a known and vocal supporter of Sen. Natasha — whom critics say “never sees any fault in Natasha” and is allegedly on her payroll, according to Prof Mgbeke — turned sharply to Francess and asked:
“Are you ready to submit your phones for police investigation, since you made allegations against Prof Mgbeke?”
Francess, clearly rattled but swift to respond, snapped:

“You’re not in the position to ask me that, I’m a journalist myself, do your job. Maybe you should first submit yours, Adeola.”

Nigerians on Facebook have been blasting Adeola, accusing her of bias and of protecting Natasha despite mounting public scrutiny and unverified claims made against others. Some of the comments read:

“Adeola has turned her platform into Natasha’s PR firm. Shameful.”

“So you want Francess and Dr Sandra to be investigated, but never Natasha? Hypocrisy at its peak.”

“Let all of them submit their phones. That way we know who’s lying.”

“I used to love Adeola, but this blind support for Natasha is making her lose credibility.”

Despite the backlash, neither journalist has issued an apology. The public, meanwhile, continues to demand transparency—not just from politicians, but from the media voices claiming to hold them accountable.
