PRESENT EVIDENCE OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT – RUFAI OSENI TO NATASHA AKPOTI

Many Nigerians, especially supporters and political associates of the Nigeria Senate President, Sen. Godswill Akpabio have commended Arise TV broadcaster and analyst, Rufai Oseni for his stance on the Akpabiogate, a fierce political and media battle between Godswill Akpabio and Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan.

Rufai during an analysis of the saga repeatedly called for Natasha to present proofs of her allegations, adding that oral allegations remains verbal begs for proves.

Ata Ikiddeh an international media personality and known associate of the senate President took to his social media to praise Mr. Oseni for his stance on the case. In his reaction he wrote …

“I want to extend my appreciation to Ojy Okpe for shedding light on this pressing issue during the Arise Morning Show.

It seems that Ojy played a crucial role in bringing this story to the forefront. Notably, Arise TV had a curious blackout of Sandra Duru’s podcast, seemingly in response to accusations directed at the network concerning their awards. Sandra Duru accused both Rufai Oseni and Dr. Ruben Abati, which may have triggered the management’s reaction. It takes a person of immense courage and a commitment to justice to amplify such stories, and Ojy certainly embodies that spirit.

On Thursday last week, Sandra Duru hosted a revealing podcast where she discussed the allegations against a female senator. Yet, it was puzzling that the Arise Morning Show did not cover what was arguably Nigeria’s most talked-about story the following day—a move that did not go unnoticed by the public.

I commend Rufai and the Arise morning team for holding Senator Natasha accountable today. Initially, they seemed to lean towards her perspective when the news first emerged in February, but as time passed, it became evident that something was amiss. Natasha’s team had not provided any evidence to substantiate the sexual harassment claims, raising suspicions about their validity.

Dr. Sandra Duru’s podcast became particularly compelling as she disclosed that the senator admitted to having no evidence to support her allegations. After such a revealing statement, one might have expected a robust response from Natasha’s camp, yet the silence has been telling.

During today’s segment, Rufai urged Senator Natasha to present her evidence. He also called on the Senate President’s legal team to share their findings. It’s worth noting that Olisa Agbakoba SAN, representing the Senate President, provided substantial evidence and photographic documentation at a recent press conference.

The key points raised included:

Senator Natasha Akpoti Udughan’s visit to the Senate President’s residence on December 8, 2023, alongside her husband and other senators.

The following day, she took to Twitter to praise the very individual she accused of harassment, prompting questions about the consistency of her narrative.

The Senate President’s legal team showcased various photographs of Senator Natasha and the Senate President collaborating on legislative matters, both nationally and internationally, throughout 2024.

Furthermore, Arise TV clarified that a contact labeled with the Senate President’s name appeared on Dr. Sandra Duru’s call log during the podcast.

It is my hope that the senator at the center of this controversy responds to the Arise Morning Show and provides the evidence necessary to back her claims of sexual harassment, justifying her position to Olisa Agbakoba’s team.

This situation calls for transparency and accountability, and it is vital that all parties involved present their sides of the story”. Ikkideh postulated
